Synergy in Pink
Acrylic, Super glue, Canvas, and Hard paper
2019 Spring
Art Foundation
The thing that inspired me to create this art is expressions. I like seeing when someone hates or likes my artwork. When I make emotions in people it makes me happy because that means you are reacting to my painting. When you react to a painting you want to keep it because by just looking at a picture you can feel nostalgic, sad, happy, angered, or confusingly curious. If I can do that and captivate your attention by just making you say “oh that's pretty” then I am happy with my artwork. The point of this artwork was to captivate attention and just for people to admire what they want. I also wanted them to see the intricacy and layers of the collage. And hopefully by doing that they analyse the project and wonder how they could do the same. As for the title it is literal. The words are what they mean; a synergy in pink in a colored bird called a Quetzal. I felt that this bird was a result of many things coming together to create something simple and nice. To me this bird is synergy in pink.

A Crumbling White Murder
Canvas, Acrylic
2019 Spring
Art Foundation
I made this artwork with the intention of telling a story, and I think I did a pretty swell job. The story I told through my artwork is something I hope is not relate-able. This story is about how a woman was betrayed. You see she trusted a person, enough so that she planned on marrying him, but sadly she decided to ignore all the red flags that told her to distance herself from her lover. She was so lonely and just wanted to be loved. It was however all fake, and she ended up dead.
The white roses represent fake love (perfect for describing her lover's feelings toward her). Her white dress could be a bridal one or one that just means innocence; both of which make the death even sadder. As for everything outside of her white blob, that is her mind. The white again represents her purity, and the specks represent the crumbling of her world. Which are the edges of the painting. The edge of the canvas is black to gray, with tendrils reaching towards her. The black and gray is reality, and the tendrils help focus attention on the center while representing reality seeping or try to reach, her innocent mind. The title is again literal, her crumbling world, the edges, and the murder of her person. I really enjoyed making this since being morbid can introduce you to new thoughts.

An Abortion Procedure
Paper, Pencil
2019 Spring
Art Foundation
What I drew is an image of an operation that is done to millions of women each year. I want to state that while I do not feel that it is right to abort a child, I have learned more of this double sided argument. Through my research for this art I have learned that there are many more reasons than what I thought for as to why a woman may get an abortion. I have put myself in their shoes and in doing so have gotten a better understanding for what they feel. By doing so I also convinced myself that it is wrong to shame a woman for getting an abortion, but that it is also wrong to take the life away from a child who never even got to start it. Through my research I found myself going in a circle with my beliefs, and in the end I never found a satisfying answer to as to whether or not one should have an abortion, but I did still believe it was wrong in most situations. So in the end I found myself thinking: "how do I draw something that is speaking out against it, and yet not attacking it". The answer I found was simple, don't do anything overly emotional, and don't make the drawing less humane, and to do this I simply drew the procedure. I read many posts of women who had had through with abortions, ones who regretted it, and why. By doing so I learned that not many women ever truly grasp what is done to them and that is why I drew what I drew. I wanted to show women what will be done to their bodies and that they should just know, because if you don't even know whats going to be done, then what else did you not think about when you decided to end a life that never started?
